Quite simply, I'm leaving LJ for Blogger, you can find me here: It's MY World (Can't Has, Not Yours)
I like the simplicity of the interface, while allowing for unique customization of each individual blog, the lack of drama (it's quiet, folks, and I like that). Plus, I'm following my baby sister's blog.

I'm posting from the Santa Rosa area of California.
Last night, I went out to a bar with a bunch of B's relatives, and had a BLAST. Got pretty drunk, but drank plenty of water, and it was just ... good to get out.
Wandered around the town today, with my sister, and it was really fun. (I'm going to be feeling it in the morning, though -- my arms are already stiff and sore.
Flying back to Seattle on Monday evening, will be home, like "home" home, on Tuesday, and I plan to just crash out for a couple of days.

They were trying to "cast out" the "demon" of homosexuality.

I'm taking a break from the internet for a day or two, due to my highly unstable emotional state. (It's a medication issue.)
I'll be back on Thursday, though.

I actually did something creative and productive for the first time in, like, forever. The result, crappy as it may be, is located at writing.com, and is titled The Box -- R&R, plz?
It's bedtime, now.
Good... uh, I guess it's morning, now, so, good morning?

On FSTDT, we have a quote from a Rapture Readian:
Quote# 62409
I know as Christians we have to deal with a lot of evil in this world and we are never going to be totally sheltered from it, but to me homosexuality is one of the WORST evils out there because it is overpowering everything and it is being shoved down our throats left and right.
bailysmom, Rapture Ready
And a brilliant response, about halfway down page 1 of the comments:

Speaking as someone who was raised Jewish, I just want to take a minute to apologize to the Christian people. For decades, my people have claimed that the holocaust was possibly the worst evil that humanity has ever known. We figured that the systematic dehumanization, torture, and murder of six million people was pretty bad, but callously, we never stopped to think about those who had it worse -- such as people who are vaguely aware that somewhere out there, there may be a couple dudes who love each other.
Anyway, on behalf of the Jewish people: Our bad. Won't happen again.

Thankfully, Jimmy killified it.

Your result for The Commonly Confused Words Test...
English Genius
You did so extremely well, even I can't find a word to describe your excellence! You have the uncommon intelligence necessary to understand things that most people don't. You have an extensive vocabulary, and you're not afraid to use it properly! Way to go!
Thank you so much for taking my test. I hope you enjoyed it!

"Satanic women don't want to gain their strength by castrating men, or by making themselves out as victims. Whether they're providing healing and inspiration to those under their roofs, cracking the whip in corporate circles, managing their own home-based businesses or maneuvering whatever they need to survive, all are applying and increasing their power - not whining about why they don't have any! We don't need "feminism" on our sleeve as our primary identity. We have our identity as Satanists. Satanic women are fierce; fierce defenders of their men, of their children, of their ideas and values." -- From the article Satanic Feminism, first published in The Black Flame vol. 6, #1 & #2 1997
Part of this really stood out to me -- "Whether they're providing healing... or maneuvering whatever they need to survive, all are applying and increasing their power -- not whining about why they don't have any!"
I have one question: What about those of us who are happy with the power we have, and don't feel a need or desire to increase it? What about those of us who are just beginning to explore LaVey's works, and while we heartily agree with the philosophy and lifestyle, just aren't that into "gaining power"? I mean, some people are just fucking content with what they have -- yeah, things could be better, but why dwell on what could be, when you should be enjoying what is -- amirite?
I feel that, honestly, that atheistic Satanism -- a rational, thought-provoking Path -- is the right one for me.
EDIT: It just struck me, that "power" in this context doesn't necessarily mean monetary power or societal power. I am continually learning, continually taking in information, and, as they say, knowledge is power.
